A new clinical study found that Gremin, an ingredient high in polyphenols from green coffee bean and curcumin manufactured by Zeus Hygia Lifesciences, may help to support endurance, strength, and recovery.

The study, published in Fortune Journal of Health Sciences, evaluated factors of physical fitness in 60 participants who supplemented with 500 mg of Gremin or placebo for 14 days.

Compared to those in the placebo group, participants who took Gremin showed significantly greater improvements in a six-minute walk test, which measures endurance, along with improvements over placebo in an isometric muscle strength study.  Participants who took the ingredient also reported reduced fatigue compared to the placebo group, using a standard questionnaire. Specifically, the participants who took the supplement had a 19% lower fatigue score than placebo on the assessment.

Additionally, the participants who consumed the ingredient exhibited significant gains in lean body mass and fat-free mass compared to baseline.

“The present clinical evidence highlights the effectiveness of Gremin in significantly enhancing endurance, improving muscle performance, and providing robust muscle protection, making it a potential supplement for athletes and active individuals looking to elevate their physical performance and recovery,” the authors wrote. They noted that measures of endurance, muscle performance, and muscle protection are interconnected and interdependent. “Together, these three elements enable athletes and active individuals to perform at their best, recover effectively, and reduce the risk of injury.”

“This study underscores the value of Gremin as a multi-functional fitness-enhancement supplement. Moreover, consumers can feel and see its clinically proven benefits in only 14 days, as shown by the researchers,” said Arun Kanth, PhD, co-founder and director of Zeus Hygia Lifesciences.

Earlier studies have provided evidence that supplementing with 500 mg of Gremin is linked to shortened muscle recovery time, by maintaining lactate dehydrogenase levels and improving VAS pain score by 60%. In that study, after five days of supplementation, participants experienced a 17% increase in performance and exhibited a 31% reduction in creatine kinase.

Gremin was developed with patented BioFusion technology, which fuses dual polyphenols extracted from decaffeinated green coffee bean extract and curcuminoids. It is targeted as a post-workout solution, blends well with whey and plant-based formulas, and is vegan.
